Depth psychotherapy delves beneath surface-level concerns to explore the subconscious, uncovering hidden patterns and conflicts that shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Rooted in the work of pioneers like Freud and Jung, this therapeutic approach aims for profound self-awareness and transformation.
Therapists create a safe space for clients to explore dreams, memories, and emotions, using techniques such as dream analysis and examining early experiences to unearth deep-seated issues. The goal is not merely symptom alleviation but enduring personal growth and understanding, leading to greater self-acceptance and fulfilment in life.

You may have heard that the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has recently altered the classification of MDMA and psilocybin, allowing authorized psychiatrists to prescribe these potent medicines for medicinal use (as of July 1st, 2023):
Although recreational use remains illegal, ongoing clinical trials worldwide, including in Australia, are exploring MDMA for post-traumatic stress disorder and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression.
The concept of ‘integration’ involves blending into a unified whole. Integrating a psychedelic experience may mean regaining one’s function and feeling whole after a challenging psychedelic experience, which may persist beyond the trip's effects. Others may seek to incorporate mystical insights into their daily lives. Regardless, psychedelic integration has the potential to provide opportunity for personal growth, deeper self-understanding, and connection with self, others, and nature.
Our clinicians practice harm reduction and offer preparation and integration therapy for psychedelic medicine experiences. They provide non-judgmental, non-interpretive support tailored to your expectations and experiences, respecting the uniqueness of each journey and guiding you to your own insights for healing and progress in life.
We do not condone the illicit use of psychedelics, but if you have taken these in the past, are not in any way intoxicated from their recent ingestion, and feel there are insights to be explored, psychedelic integration & harm reduction therapy may be for you.

No; although some of our therapists are trained in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, we do not currently offer this treatment modality. Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy involves the client ingesting a psychedelic substance while the practitioner provides therapeutic support.
-
Absolutely not. Our philosophy is that the highest calibre of psychotherapy is almost always a support to help you move closer to wholeness, closer to your unique and authentic self. We believe that if this is the core principle, and we are simply conduits to that type of discovery - and the evidence is also very clear on this - your ‘mental health’ will improve as an epi-phenomenon. We are very keen to work with people who know that they are not achieving their potential, and feel that much of their mental distress is as a result of not moving in this direction - this has many names, sometimes ‘self actualisation’ or ‘individuation’.

We offer support to people with a wide array of conditions and concerns; some may include:
Feelings of purposelessness
Navigation of a challenging life transition or experience
Difficulties reaching one’s potential
Unhealthy coping mechanisms (e.g. patterns of self-sabotage, people pleasing, procrastination, addiction, avoidance/denial, negative self-talk, etc.)
Wanting to better understand oneself and one’s unconscious processes
Wanting to explore past trauma
Relationship difficulties
Creative blocks
Wanting to explore one’s spirituality
This is an inexhaustible list and we welcome any inquiries.
While our clinicians are adept at managing a range of mental health conditions, depth psychotherapy is perhaps better suited to individuals who are at a relatively stable place in their lives.
Please note: If you are currently experiencing a mental health crisis or suicidal ideation/planning, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14; visit your local emergency department; or call 000.
